Ofelia Cuevas is an assistant professor at UC Davis, where she is the Director of a California focused campus wide initiative for formerly incarcerated and system impacted students. She received her Ph.D. in Ethnic Studies from UC San Diego with a focus on social theory, political economic history, and visual culture. She has published in American Quarterly as well as the arts design and humanities journal, PUBLIC. She is the recipient of a UCOP Multicampus Research Grant which will excavate the historical connections of The Organization of Solidarity of the People of Africa, Asia, and Latin America (OSPAAAL) political print art with political print art in California and the West. She is a third-generation Californian working on her second book titled A Consideration of the West: California and the Geo-Historical Shift of the US.
